| Welfare Reform gone mad | Dec 03, 2008 |
| Melonhead99 |
Queens Speech to Parliment today, where she reads out a statement prepared for her by the government, onlining what the government will be doing this year, one bit struck me, on Welfare Reform
Aimed at creating “incentives” for people to return to work and “consequences” for those who do not, this bill applies to England, Scotland and Wales. It promises more “sanctions” against people who do not attend job centre interviews and work-focussed interviews for the over-60s.
Penalties for over-60’s that don’t look for work, yep, now in Britain, not even the old get any peace from the Gordon Brown ‘Work Ethic’ insanity, oh what a glorious land I live in.

Good grief. I also wouldn’t be surprised if more countries didn’t start relaxing rules (the ones that have any, anyway) on children working.
No need to let all that labor potential go to waste.
