Saxby Chambliss won re-election to the Senate last night, due to name recognition, stunt endorsements, and willingness to dive into the sewer and gambol like a performing dolphin. I think the Democratic Party would do well to adopt a 49 state strategy, as Georgia may be a hopelessly lost cause. Not only did they defy the national trend towards more progressive politics, they ignored the most unbelievably creepy campaign video ever made. Get a load of where Chambliss rests his hand at the end of this video. Anybody know the number of Child Protective Services in Georgia?

Oh man, I saw that video. I think he just wasn’t thinking and probably didn’t realize how much she’d grown and all that, but I can’t believe someone on his staff didn’t see how weird it looks and cut or re-shoot that part.
