Philadelphia Flyers owner Ed Snider is a diehard Republican. In an apparent effort to give the McCain/Palin ticket a boost in a state where they are well behind, Snider arranged an appearance by “Hockey Mom” Sarah Palin.

The booing was incredibly loud, so loud that even cranking the music way up couldn’t drown it out.
In a transparently craven move, Palin brought two of her children onto the ice with her, in the misguided belief that it would dissuade the crowd from booing. Forgetting that Flyers fans once booed Santa Claus.
