Just listerning to the radio, inter-bank lending interest rates are up, this the day after national interest rates cuts, why? I’ve no idea?
All this promised extra money from the state, pumped into the system to stimulate the market by giving banks the capital to lend, where do the government get it from? they borrow it, who from? god knows? and will it be at the new higher inter bank rates? who knows?
I’ve seen figures for the ammounts the British government will fork out, anything from £50bn to £500bn, (thats about $85bn to $850bn for our American readers, assuming anyone reads this?)
This same problem of deregulation etc hit countries like Japan in the 90’s, did we learn from this? no, we followed the same methods and ending up in the same hole, no cash flow in the system, economic decline and we are now doing what Japan did by pumping billions into the market.
It took Japan well over 10 years to start to recover, so was the cash injection the best idea? not a clue here? Seemed to work in the long run, but maybe doing nothing would have worked as well?
I’ve always been anti-capitalist, as we all know, not hidden, paper money is so much bluff and bullshit ‘heres a note it’s worth $10’ why is it worth $10? because someone printed fancy writing on it, it looks impressive, lots of special marks, ornate script, got national symbols on it, must be worth $10. Sorry I’m talking crap again, need my medication, I must be talking crap, most other people seem to accept it and I’m not well up on financial stuff.

It’s a game of “let’s pretend”. WHen we’re children we pretend we’re astronauts, and when we’re adults we pretend that piece of paper is worth something.
There’s a short story aby an author Named Harlan Ellison titled “Hitler Painted Roses”. Premise of the story is that the lies we all believe in are what holds the universe together. There’s something to that, I think.
