Seeking light in a murky world

Entrance

I’ve always loved this picture - in part because I have a noted fondness for mist and fog, but also because it speaks to me of pasts and futures, entrances, exits and beginnings.

It was taken by my friend Kai Chang while on a visit to China, a place I have never been and will likely never be, but which I can enjoy vicariously through Kai’s visits and observations.

Thanks! And I’ve missed you too, and doc - I’m so glad you guys didn’t give up on me! Thanks much. I left right in the middle of all sorts of plans to increase traffic here and not just to the front page, but that’ll come.

Is there still chat? I tried to install pirch and it wouldn’t go, but anyway…

I’m not sure where rich or should I say ‘doc’ chats these days? maybe #american-politics on starchat? I still stick in the old sorcery.net #worldnews and in egomedics new room, #freespeechpolitics on starchat that room is so desperate, they made paper-view an op to stop him leaving!, they offered me ops, but after I spit in ego’s face for suggesting I might want it, he never asked me again.

Nanette!

Happy to see you back, and Melonhead as well.

I’ve slowed down my blogging considerably. I had some concerns that my posts, 99%  of which amount to “Jeez, what a jerk _____ is” were distasteful to the good people who followed your blog. Nobody comments on my posts, not even spammers.

I’m doing some reflection on how necessary i is for me to blog at all. Frankly, I read my stuff and it looks like a pale imitation of Sadly, No! and TBogg. And you don’t even get the ace photoshop images that Sadly, No! delivers.

Hi doc! happy to be back and good to see you. Thanks much for keeping going while I was gone. And, as to that, don’t goooooo! I read your stuff and I think it’s a definite step up from Sadly, No, personally… but then, I am biased. And by no means did you run anyone away - most of the comments have always been on the main site articles, for some reason.

Right before I got booted offline the last time, I was working on restructuring the front page to bring more traffic to this area… because of the way the site is structured and the software this blog doesn’t register quite as normal blogs do, I guess. Anyway, I am working on that, now that I’m back!

Doing alright, though way too busy for my own good.  Real life has sucked the writing energy out of me, still trying to corner the elusive muse that keeps me up at night.

Beyond happy to see you resurfacing.
