Thanks to everyone for their patience and support during these past few months of flitterygibbitiness.
We will, of course, need help - people to contribute their writing, copyediting, idea generation, temporary editorial board members, so on and I’m not shy about asking for it. Okay, well I am, but that doesn’t stop me from doing so. We’re not funded in any way at all, thus do not pay for submissions; we depend on - and have since our first day - not only people who wish to get their words out there into the wider world (which thing we are happy to help with), but also those who are dedicated to (or at least interested in) social justice, human rights, human dignity and, at least in some small way, changing the world. We are thankful for every person who has in the past volunteered their time, talent and effort, and for those who will in the future. Having said that, we are also going to be rejecting some pieces that we might have accepted in the past. Yes, yes, it’s true… even as beggars we’ll also be choosers. This is not due to poor writing or anything - it’s simply because of our goals to be themed, focused, specific and to connect the dots. The chosen theme of each issue will apply to all sections of the site - except for Both Sides Now (BSN), where we’ll continue to accept opinion pieces on various topical subjects, our regular columnists, who write about whatever interests them, and the HB blogs. So, water, water everywhere… and how are we going to fill an entire issue with it? That’s for my next post. For now, if you have interest or questions or curiosity about this or the new issues, you can email me at topics dash 1 twirly thing humanbeams dot com. Or click here to go our contact form, which also comes to me.

I know what you’re saying suitable now: How can you seriously use sporting activities betting and early retirement inside the identical sentence? As ridiculous as it appears to be, I may well just be able to alter your point of view as soon as you are accomplished reading this short article. So allow me clarify. Initial of all I would like to clarify, that I’m not stating that you just need to go out correct now empty your retirement cost savings account and bet it on the upcoming NFL game this weekend. Definitely with any sort of investing it’s ideal to diversify your portfolio so that you don’t have all of your eggs within the very same basket. What I’m indicating is that perhaps, you’ll be able to look to sporting activities bets as one more vehicle which you can add on to your existing and additional conventional types of investments. Who knows, they might basically out carry out some of your risk-free money. Get Real: Sporting activities Bets for Retirement. Is this a Joke? Increasing up and all through our functioning lives, we have usually been informed from the authorities that you simply need to save for a rainy day and that it’s crucial that we put some money for retirement. If everybody have been adhering to this guidance, then why are so many individuals having to keep on working until they are 65 and 70 years of age? Why are so numerous people broke when they are ready to retire, even although they have stuck using the strategy? We’ve always been told, that if we set a certain quantity of money away in our retirement money that it ought to double just about every 6-7 many years. Have you heard this prior to? The concept behind it is that with time you possibly can grow a modest sum of money into a great fortune by letting it grow. Allow me question you. How has that been working out for you? Why Settle for that So Called “Sure Thing”, When the Riskier Option Might Not Be That Risky at all? Even if the above strategy were to actually function, which in reality it’s not, why are you prepared to settle for 100% returns each and every 6-7 years when sporting activities bets can get you these types of returns each and just about every 12 months? It’s not uncommon to determine athletics bets returns of 10%, 20% and 50% month-to-month allow alone yearly. Even a modest 6% return compounded month-to-month will get you more than 100% ROI right after just the first 12 months. If you are able to follow a winning and lucrative physical activities betting system, manage your money like you’d along with your other investments and stay disciplined, then you certainly may perhaps locate that betting on physical activities might be replacing your other investments.

I mentioned previously that Human Beams was going to be moving in new and exciting directions when the time was right, and that time is now. It’ll still require a measure of patience on all our parts as we make sure each step is on a firm foundation before we move on to the next one, but our goals of - by November, 2008 (our 10 year anniversary) - becoming more than a magazine, being more relevant, cohesive and innovative in many areas and, most importantly, of connecting dots, will be met. As it will take a bit of time to gather the material needed not only to put our first (new) issue out (including, finally, a print version!), but to do it in the way we have planned, there is a tentative publishing date of the first or second week of October. For the online version. In what may be considered an odd twist of publishing, but which we have very good reasons for, our print version will not be coming out until after the web issue is retired.
