Seeking light in a murky world

Bizzaro World Ethics

by Doc Logan

The Atlantic hired reknowned photographer Jill Greenberg to photograph John McCain for a cover story. Greenberg took a series of photos, and the Atlantic published one.

In a world where logic applied, the story would end here.

Greenberg took the outtakes of the photo session and had some fun with them.

The usual right wing idiots made the predictable fuss, and the Atlantic is stopping payment on her check.

The Atlantic is reneging on a contract, and it’s Greenberg’s professional ethics that are questioned.

If I were a subscriber or advertiser, I’d seriously entertain the notion of stopping payment on any check sent to the Atlantic.

Dirty? Dishonest? Grotesquely unethical? Sure. And just following the example they’ve set.

The rules have changed again!
